One thing I hate most is the inability to correct a correctible problem. A major portion of our problems in Gary are defense mechanisms in place that provide shields of protection to our public officials who constantly break laws they are sworn to uphold and enforce. That same mechamism insulates them with the utmost discretion.
Our State Representatives in Indianapolis are powerless because of fear. Their fear to perform their duties serves Gary no purpose. Their democratic status is a smear to the entire American Democracy. Considering their track record, why should anyone vote a straight democratic ticket? Insane!
Not only our elected officials in Indianapolis, but our elected officials right here in Gary are negligent in their performance as servants for the people. Our representation is minimal, if any at all. Why do we accept this kind of service from our servants? We are not their servants, they are our servants. They are obligated to serve us.
Skeletons in the closets are plentiful. Some people have more skeletons than others. Regardless how many skeletons there may be in the closet, we will never know because the doors are always closed. The containment of those skeletons are the foundation for our misery. Those closets contain deceitful strategies and diabolical schemes that will explain the treatment we are systematically subjected to.
Black people will remain in a dungeon of despair as long as we continue to allow our elected officials to continue to scratch each other’s back.

Hello Michael, my name is Patrica King. I live in Gary, Indiana. I have no one else to turn to. Everyone I’ve talked to concerning the wrongful murder conviction of my son Jamel Douglas Gilbert has been to no avail.
Usually, a mother will defend her child regardless of the accusations placed against that child. That does not apply in this case because once you see what’s going on here, you won’t believe it. Then again, I’m certain you will believe it considering the injustice African Americans are constantly subjected to throughout America.
This posting is phase one of my appeal to you for help. I will be posting more information soon. Hopefully, you will find it in your heart to call me.
The following phases will include information regarding the big picture, a picture that will make anyone who sees it sick in the stomach. All I ask is for you to approach this posting with an open mind.
I am convinced that a new trial will vindicate my son. In doing so, it will also pinpoint individuals in our Judicial System who are part of a major conspiracy to incarcerate our young brothers and sisters.
Thanks Sincerely,
Patrica King

“Teen faces perjury charge after telling jurors his statement was a lie”

Crown Point, Indiana — A witness testifying in the murder trial of 17-year old Jamel Douglas Gilbert told jurors he lied when he implicated his childhood friend in the statement he gave to police.
The Lew Wallace High School student said Wednesday he was afraid he’d get arrested and told the police what they wanted to hear about the Oct. 9, 2004, shooting death of James Baker, 17.
Baker, a Wirt High School honors student who had planned to attend Ball State University on an academic scholarship, was shot outside his home in the 1300 block of East 7th Avenue.
“I just made up a story so I wouldn’t go to jail,” the teen said. He later said he told prosecuting attorney Armando Salinas during a meeting a few months ago that the statement was true but that he was afraid.
Gary police said they planned to arrest the teen for perjury.
Judge Diane Ross Boswell told jurors after the teen left the witness stand that his testimony was not to be considered evidence of what took place the night Baker was shot.
Gilbert, who was 15 at the time, was charged with murder in February 2005. He has pleaded not guilty.
Gilbert was in a white Dodge Dynasty that police pulled over at Georgia Street and 37th Avenue in the Glen Park section of Gary shortly after Baker was shot.
The teen said he, Gilbert and two other friends had been hanging out at a friend’s house and went to another friend’s uncle’s house. They were on their way home when police stopped the car.
Gary police Cpl. Jeff Tatum testified he brought a witness from the shooting scene to look at the car. That witness identified the car as the one he saw leaving after Baker was shot.
Questioned by defense attorney Fred Work, Tatum acknowledged the report he wrote indicated the car was described as a Plymouth, not a Dodge. Both cars are Chrysler products.
A simple observation by Dwight Taylor:
When a witness who testified in the murder trial of 17-year old Jamel Douglas Gilbert told jurors he lied when he implicated his childhood friend (Jamel Gilbert) in the statement he gave to police is ordered to leave the court room, and the jury is instructed to disregard his testimony, something is seriously wrong my friends.
How could the defense attorney allow something like this to happen? Perhaps Incompetence?
“Judge denies request for acquittal of teen accused in fatal shooting”
Defense notes testimony inconsistencies after jurors are removed from court.

Crown Point, Indiana — Lake Superior Court Judge Diane Ross Boswell denied a defense request for a directed verdict of acquittal Thursday in the murder trial of Jamel Douglas Gilbert.
The 17-year old Gary teen is accused of fatally shooting James Baker, 17, on Oct. 9, 2004, in Gary.
Defense attorney Fred Work argued that prosecutors failed to prove Gilbert shot Baker. With jurors dismissed for the day, Work noted key witnesses had provided inconsistent testimony, and characterized as circumstantial the state’s evidence, including a red sweatshirt with Gilbert’s DNA that police found in the 800 block of Tennessee Street near the shooting scene at 7th Avenue and Utah Street.
Deputy Prosecutor Armando Salinas, however, countered that a witness who testified Tuesday that he was sitting next to Baker when he was shot identified Gilbert from a photo lineup in court as the shooter. Work argued the witness’ identification of Gilbert waffled depending on who was questioning him.
Salinas said another witness identified the car Baker and three other young people were riding in as the one he saw leaving the scene after Baker was gunned down. Gary police stopped the car at 37th Avenue and Georgia Street.
Boswell said the jury will have a chance to decide what weight to give the evidence presented.
In testimony Thursday, Dr. John Cavanaugh, chief forensic pathologist for the Lake County coroner’s office, said Baker was shot at least five times in the back and side, including through the heart.
Lake County police Capt. Kevin Judge, a firearms and tool mark examiner with the crime lab, said all five bullets recovered during Baker’s autopsy were fired from the same gun, most likely a .38 caliber revolver.
Gary police Detective James Bond, the lead detective on the case, said no weapon was recovered.
A simple observation by Dwight Taylor:
Will someone tell me how can a car with four occupants allegedly seen leaving the scene of a deadly shooting be pulled over by the police for possible involvement in the shooting and the alleged shooter is the only one charged with the murder? Should’t there be accountability around the entire table for participation, such as the get-away-driver and accessory to murder by association? Do you detect a peculiar odor?
What do you suppose would happen if four men are cruising and one of them decides to rob a bank? The car pulls over and he goes into a bank alone, robs it, and returns to the car. Ten minutes later, that same car is pulled over because of a description given to police. All four men will be charged with bank robbery.
“Jury finds Gilbert guilty of murder”
17-year old faces 45 to 65 years in prison for killing James Baker.

Crown Point, Indiana — Lake Superior Court Jurors deliberated less than one hour Friday before convicting Jamel Douglas Gilbert, 17, of murder in the 2004 shooting death of a Wirt High School honors student.
Gilbert, who did not testify during his weeklong trial, faces from 45 to 65 years in the shooting death of James Baker, 17.
Baker, a Wirt senior, was planning to study engineering at Ball State University when he was killed Oct, 9, 2004 outside his home in the 1300 block of West 7th Avenue. Baker was shot at least five times.
Lake Superior court Judge Diane Ross Boswell scheduled a sentencing hearing for Sept. 8.
Defense attorney Fred Work told jurors that prosecutors proved Baker was murdered, but failed to prove Gilbert was the shooter. Work pointed to conflicting testimony and witnesses who provided inconsistent statements to support his position that the state’s case was weak.
But Deputy Prosecutor Armando Salinas Jr. told jurors in his closing argument that witness testimony that a white Dodge Dynasty fled the scene after the shooting and that the shooter had been wearing a red hooded sweatshirt was corroborated by other witnesses and evidence found near the scene.
Gary police discovered two red hooded sweatshirts in the 800 block of Tennessee Street, a short distance from the crime scene at 7th Avenue and Ohio Street. One of the sweatshirts contained Gilbert’s DNA. Gilbert was 15 years old when he was charged with murder.
The shooting occurred after Gilbert and Baker had left a party with different groups of friends.
A white car followed Baker to his home. Witnesses said Gilbert got out of the car rear passenger seat and started firing a handgun, most likely a .38-caliber revolver which police never recovered.
A short time after the shooting, Gary police stopped the white car at 37th Avenue and Georgia Street. Gilbert was sitting in the rear passenger seat.
Gilbert’s mother, Patricia King said she plans to appeal.
“My son just got convicted today for a crime he was wrongfully accused,” she said. “The prosecutor had no case at all.”
Questioned by Work about gunshot residue tests for Gilbert and the three people with him after the shooting, Bond said Gary police don’t use the test. The persecutor’s office didn’t ask the county or state police crime labs to perform the test, Bond said.
A simple observation by Dwight Taylor:
If the Gary Police Department were truly interested in justice, a call would’ve been made to the county or state police to conduct a residue test on the young men that evening. That test would’ve revealed residue on any one of them if they recently discharged a firearm, or it would’ve cleared them. Why wasn’t the simple test conducted?

Over the years, I have held many gatherings and anti-violence marches to ascertain solutions to our grave situation, and to display a strong and sincere distress signal to the world that we have a very serious problem in Gary.
Our elected officials have failed us miserably. Our ministers have failed us miserably. We, as adults have failed our children miserably. Individually, many of us have the mentality that as long as my biological children finishes high school and go on to college, I did my job. Wrong, what ever happened to the African Proverb, It takes a village to raise a child? Until we realize our children’s destiny depends on our unity, we will continue to breed little monsters. Little monsters who are the primary perpetrators on our tranquility because that is what society taught them, with our permission of course.
Until we dissect the relationship between politics and the churches, we will continue to be misled by our so-called ministers who are led by politics. If corruption exists in every aspect of our local government and our ministers are led by the politicians, why should we be surprised of our present dysfunctional predicament?
The old fashion way of getting to the masses of the people has dissipated in accordance to a conspiracy of systematic braninwashing. We no longer are tapped on our shoulders by God Fearing Men of God at our front door to do the right thing. How can they approach us when they aren’t doing God’s true work themselves becasue they have been systematically brainwashed as well?
I have the tenacity and gumption to challenge our local problems, but the more information I get out, the more anger my own people display. My reputation to challenge injustice and discriminatory practices, and even the ability to organize people is documented throughout this city, if not the state. I can do many things but I can’t change the mindset of our people without the intervention of True Men of God and professionals.
My plea is going out to professionals to intervene in the systematic destruction of Gary, Indiana. Self-hatred is so prevalent in this city that individuals in my immediate circle are jealous of my attempts to wake our people. I honestly don’t understand the level of their fear.
Folks, it is extremely dark in the pit of that barrel. During my struggle to get to the rim of that barrel, I encountered many complacent crabs that made every attempt to delay my climb to the rim. Despite their attempts, my efforts paid off. As I look down into the barrel, I often slip lubricants to the advancing crabs so they can lubricate their ankles. Their lubricated ankles will allow them the opportunity to slip through the hands of the complacent crabs who constantly grab at their ankles in an attempt to prevent them from advancing to the rim.
The only good thing that will probably please the complacent crabs in the pit of the barrel is the steamer.

Folks, let’s dissect the foundation of racism. Blacks and whites both will probably be offended by this examination.
European whites have migrated to this country for many years. During their migration, they cleared all obstacles from their path, including the indigenous people, the Indians. The American government methodically exterminated the Indians to acquire land that is now a healthy percentage of the American economy. After the acquisition of the land from the Indians, labor was necessary to build this country. The kidnapping of Africans from Africa to America was part of the master plan to build America.
The white man knew the best way to control the black man was to strip him of his culture. The African Culture was deliberately replaced with western tradition once we arrived here in the belly of slave ships. This was all part of a master plan as well. Segments of the master plan also include genocide. International genocide among black people was, and still is necessary to monitor and control the thinking of black people. A lot of times, whites will call a black person who speaks negative about white people a racist. But in actuality, that person is simply reacting to a systematic conspiracy of control.
Black people have been conditioned to feel inferior to white people. Most white people wouldn’t agree to this because they are ignorant themselves of what is really going on. White people have been conditioned as well. They have been conditioned to think they are superior over other races, particularly the black race. I’ve heard it mention that a poor man can’t be a racist because power dictates racism. That is not true. Ignorance dictates racism. There are rich bigots and there are poor bigots.
Whenever House Negro is mentioned, the white man automatically equates that individual with a successful black man. That is their way of circumventing reality. Their unrealistic approach is just another way of effectively controlling the black man.
During slavery, the house Negro was loyal to his or her master. They ate the master’s leftovers. They got to sleep in the barn. They even got sick when the master was sick. The same mentality that was instrumental in controlling blacks then is utilized today. The House Negro felt superior over the field Negroes who were usually rebellious. Any brownie points the house Negro could accumulate over the field Negro, they capitalized with no regard for the punishment to the field Negro.
Individuals today usually equate the house Negro with success. A black man who wants to advance is automatically assumed to be a house Negro according to white America.
I do have a little sympathy for them. For they know not what they are or who they are.

According to Mayor Clay, Gary is not a violent city. Wow!! Just imagine folks, wouldn’t it be nice to live in the city our Mayor lives in? We are averaging well over one (1) homicide per week in this peaceful city of Gary. Based on the Mayor’s assessment of this great city, our property taxes should be an all time low. Are they? Of course they aren’t. After all, many businesses have returned here after white flight. Right? Wrong my friends.
Folks, tomorrow, November 6, 2007 is your chance to voice your opinion about what you think of the present administration. If you think Mayor Clay is doing a good job, of course you will vote for him. If you are employed by the city, of course you will vote for him. But out of fear, some will even hesitantly vote for Mayor Clay because of a very serious problem among black people. That serious and dangerous intersection of turmoil is the fear of doing the right thing. That fear is so deeply entrenched in the mentality of black people in accordance to the Willie Lynch Letter that the KKK has retired.
Our fear is a conditioned fear that will be celebrated in 2012 marking 300 years of control in adherence to a plan presented to slave-owners on the Bank of the James River in 1712. Regardless if you believe the existence of the letter or not, you better believe the deplorably bad conditions of the black communities throughout America is no mistake.

Folks, there is a genuine way to determine if a black person truly love black people. Recently, I watched a documentary about the birth of the Civil Rights Movement. Eyes on the Prize is a compilation of information collected over the years regarding the Movement. Any black person who watches the documentary and not feel bad about our present predicament is a major contributing factor to our misery. If a black person watches Eyes on the Prize and not shed a tear, that person is a major reason for our dyfunctional predicatment. If a black person watches Eyes on the Prize and compare our brothers and sister’s relentless fight for equality and justice during that era with the black genocide going on in America today and not feel guilty, that person is a major contributing factor to our predicament. If a black person watches Eyes on the Prize and not want to make a change, that House Negro is doing exactly what he or she was conditioned to do.
